Michael Chou was born in Taiwan in 1972 before immigrating to the United States with his family. His early years were spent moving across the country, from Woodland Hills, CA, to Garden City, NY, before settling in Charleston, SC, where he grew up. Fluent in English and proficient in Taiwanese Mandarin, Michael brings a diverse background and wealth of experience to the real estate industry.
In 1998, Michael relocated to Bluffton, SC, where he embarked on a successful 25-year career in medical management, rising to a director-level position. Seeking new professional challenges, he transitioned into real estate sales, leveraging his extensive experience in negotiating multi-million-dollar commercial medical office leases and residential investment property acquisitions. His expertise extends to working with engineers, architects, and interior designers in managing medical office construction projects.
A dedicated leader, Michael was elected president of a state professional society four times, serving a total of seven years, and held the role of president for two Hilton Head/Bluffton area commercial POAs for four years. He is a certified Real Estate Negotiation Expert and has furthered his professional development by earning Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) and Seller Representation Specialist (SRS) designations. He is an active member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), South Carolina REALTORS®, and the Hilton Head Area REALTORS® Association.
Beyond real estate, Michael is actively involved in his community, serving on his neighborhood’s social committee and participating in the Bourbon Club. His personal interests include traveling both domestically and internationally, RV camping, ocean cruising, attending Savannah Bananas games, and indulging in his passion for automobiles. He has had the opportunity to own multiple performance vehicles and has driven renowned routes such as the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway.
